The pre-designed Quintana Roo daytrips are calculated with groups of five, and include transportation, lunches, entrance fees, tour guides, and certified guides in archaeological sites. What to bring/wear: Sunglasses, hat, camera/batteries, insect repellent, biodegradeable sunblock, comfortable clothes and footwear, swim wear, a towel, extra t-shirt, some change for tips - and maybe educational items (books, notepads, pens), senseful toys, clothes or fruit when we go to the Mayan communities. Mexican museums charge USD for the use of video cameras.

Day 1
ARRIVAL Pick up at Cancun airport and transportation to your hotel in Playa del Carmen.
Day 2
COBA ($95) Visit the Coba ruins, a Mayan community and a cenote (sweetwater sinkhole). Apprx. from 8am—4.30pm. Includes entrance fees and lunch.
Day 3
SIAN KA’AN ($123) Visit the Ecological Center of the Sian Ka’an biosphere reserve and take a boat tour on the lagoon. Swim in a cenote. includes entrance fees and lunch.Apprx. 7am—5.30pm.
Day 4
BACALAR (2days $253) Visit Fort San Felipe and its museum, and Cenote Azul for lunch and swimming. Spend afternoon at Eco Lodge on the Bacalar lagoon. Includes entrance fees, rooms, lunch and dinner. We are leaving Playa del Carmen at 8am and spend the night in Bacalar.
Day 5
KOHUNLICH (leaving from Bacalar) Visit the Kohunlich ruins, experience Mayan culinary in the house of a family in Chacchoben.Return to Playa del Carmen.Includes entrance fees, breakfast, snacks and Mayan meal.All day.
Day 6
CHICHEN ITZA ($90) Take a guided tour of the archaeological site in the morning, have Yucatecan style lunch, and visit the colonial town of Valladolid in the afternoon. Includes entrance fees, guides, snacks, lunch. From apprx. 8am—7pm
Day 7
TULUM ($92) Visit the Tulum ruins in the morning and participate in a Temazcal (sweat lodge) ceremony for purification. Apprx. from 9am—6pm.Includes entrance fees, lunch and fruits and water at the ceremony.

This accessible roundtrip was initially designed for school classes and matches CA State Curriculum, to add hands-on experience to classroom teachings in history, social science, ecology, and astronomy.
